Located just seven kilometres southwest of Ibiza Town, Ibiza Airport is the main gateway to the islands of Ibiza and Formentera. This large and modern airport caters to a wide range of both domestic and international flights, of which around 85 per cent of passengers arrive here during the months of May to October.
While the airport mainly serves Ibiza, there are also connections to a number of local destinations as well as regional cities such as Majorca, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid.
Around five million passengers currently pass through Ibiza Airport’s modern terminal building each year, and the airport is the main gateway to the island of Ibiza and the surrounding area as up to 85 per cent of all visitors pass through here. First established as a temporary airport during the Spanish Civil War, the airport first opened its doors to passengers on 1 April 1959, and has been consistently extended and modernised ever since.
